Outside

in the sunshine

While working hard on your computer, have you ever looked through the window? Do you have a window in your office? You probably do, but the curtains are probably draw, because the light and the sun annoy you. Maybe you should look outside your window for a minute, and think about what you see.

No. It's not just a bunch of trees, and a street, and cars, and buildings.

You know, there's a world out there. It's _the_ world. And it's there. You're looking at it. I know well, it is hard to actually see it. But it's there and it will be there for a long time, so you could start looking at it more often.

Cause you're not alone. Nooooo, your little universe, that's not everything. There's more. There's others, that are trapped inside their little lives too, just like you. You could have a better look at them on the subway. They're not insensitive slaves. They're people with feelings, just as you are. You do still have feelings, don't you?

Look at the world, and close your eyes, as the sun blinds you. And look at it some more, and try to actually realize that it is there. That whatever you're doing on your computer is not that important. Or if it really is important to the world, understand how lucky you are. But it probably isn't. You're small, but that's good, because you can find other people, that are small too. You can, really. Or at least, if you don't have the courage or enough motivation to talk to them, and least smile to them sincerely, on the street, even if they're not looking at you. Learn that they're there. Try to think a bit about they're problems too, that are so much different, even if quite the same, with yours.

And look at the trees. Do look at them. Remember that they are alive, and that they actually grow, and have a life of they're own. And they will probably outlive you. Yeah, they're not as smart as you are, but that does not stop them to have a life that is maybe less worried, and in a way happier, than yours. An take example.

And look at the sky, and try to remember and to be aware of how large it really is, and how cool that is. Looking at the sky I realize that we are on earth, which is round, and large, with lots of people on it, that unfortunately stopped looking at the sky for quite some time. And it's sad, because the sky is a beautiful thing.

And look around you more. And remember you are not alone. That your life is not everything that matters. For you it does quite matter, that I agree, bu remember and be aware that there are other things, other people, lots of other people, that you should not ignore. And understand, for whatever-you-want's sake, be aware that they are there, that they exist!

And that they also, as all things, and as the world, need love.

Look outside, and try to understand.

1. You're looking through the window. Then you start philosophizing on that - on life, the universe, the humans and so on. OK, I can understand that. But who pays you at the same time for working? :D

2. Indeed, I have no feelings. I'm a cold blooded, boring robot... but I can smile... so I can hide my stress and problems in a more effective manner.

1. The tax-payers, of course, 80% European and 20% French.

2. I think you should love more, man. Let love invade you. I'll stretch forth my hands and I'll tell you to put yours against mine and you will be healed, put your hands on the screen, touch the screen, touch the screen, heal, heal, heal, in the name of Jeesus! [1]
